Bishop Ernest Mills

 

Rev. Dr. Ernest Mills resides in Baker, Louisiana with his family. He was born in Woodville, Mississippi on July 31, 1953. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 12 years old in the year of 1965. The late Rev. A. L. Butler at the St. John Baptist Church in Woodville, Mississippi baptized him. He has been married to Yvonne Jefferson since July 28, 1973. He is the father of three children and three grandchildren.

 

In 1984, God called Rev. Dr. Ernest Mills into the ministry of preaching the Gospel. In June of 1986, he was called into the pastoral role of the New Rising Sun Baptist Church, 16313 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

 

Rev. Dr. Ernest Mills completed his Christian education at Christian Bible College of Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Theology, and he later obtained a Masters and Doctors degree from the same college.

 

Dr. Mills is a man that God has given a vision for His people. In 2001, God gave Dr. Mills a vision to rebuild New Rising Sun Baptist Church with a new edifice at 16444 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana across the street from the old edifice.
